Overview

The Experience Ecosystem FrameworkTM (XEF) is a whole-organisation framework for managing experience across every audience, designed, delivered, and measured to a single defined standard.
It consists of four dimensions that each answer a question the others cannot.
Strategy: What standard will the organisation hold itself to?
Derives a set of experience principles from the organisation's own values and promise. These are behavioural standards that govern how it acts towards every audience, in every interaction, across every function.
Audiences: What does that standard mean for each audience the organisation impacts?
Translates the principles into a defined experience for each audience: employees (EX), customers (CX), partners (PX), influencers (IX) and society (SX). It sets out what the organisation commits to delivering at every stage of every relationship.
Operations: Is the organisation built to deliver it?
Orients the operating model, its structure, people, process, and technology, around the standard. It connects the operational disciplines the organisation already runs, such as user experience or digital experience, to a common definition of what good looks like.
Measurement: Is the organisation delivering it?
Tracks perception, behaviour, and outcome across every audience against what the organisation committed to deliver, and connects experience performance to financial, social, and environmental results.
How XEF works
The four dimensions are built in sequence. Strategy sets the standard, Audiences translates it, Operations delivers it, and Measurement holds delivery to account.
That sequence is how XEF is built, not how it runs. Once the dimensions are in place, the framework operates as a continuous loop, with Measurement feeding back into the other three dimensions. Each pass improves the next, so the framework becomes more valuable the longer it runs.
XEF is a permanent operating discipline that puts experience at the heart of the organisation. It is owned by leadership and practised by everyone.
